Job Description

Hours: 30-37.5 expected hours per week

  • Wednesday-Friday, 1pm-9pm
  • Saturday, 9am-5pm

Training will be scheduled during daytime hours (9:00am –5:00pm) flexible schedule for training.

Job Purpose / Mandate

The role is to provide assistance with Vista Services’ sales process between the company and its customers who make up our large vendor network.  The candidate must be able to solve problems, make informed decisions, multi-task, work in a fast-paced time sensitive environment, think outside the box and work to achieve the best results for the company and our vendor network.

We are looking for a highly motivated Credit Officer to service our partners and customers. This is a BIG opportunity for a candidate looking to become part of the Vista Services team and is suited for an individual looking for a long-term and rewarding career.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ability to read, understand & make conclusions based on credit bureau reports (TransUnion and Equifax);
  • Assess each customer’s credit and payment history at each contract presentation;
  • Fully understand the contract and credit policy requirements. Recognize and address policy requirements and contract deficiencies;
  • Ability to make decisions based on information provided in credit bureau reports and within our credit policies;
  • Problem solver: can think on their feet, develop own ‘detective skills’ and build confidence to use and execute knowledge gained;
  • Ability to learn new computer software programs;
  • Communicate with the Vendors and Sales Team on contract requirements and ensure appropriate quality vendor training;
  • Timely completion of contract auditing, data entry and status updates to meet guaranteed deadlines;
  • Daily management of unresolved contract files and follow ups;
  • Contribute with varied clerical & administrative tasks;
  • Help grow our customer base and develop/maintain strong relationships by maximizing all vendor contract opportunities;
  • Help develop Vista’s operational excellence by upholding company policies and procedures as well and demonstrating a level of professionalism and communication consistent with the expectation of the position;
  • Help increase vendor retention by utilizing time and resources efficiently. Provide the best customer service & support in the industry to our vendor partners;
  • Contribute positively to the team environment and company strategies;
  • Uphold and embody company values in all work and interactions, contributing to a positive and supportive team culture.

Knowledge and Skills

  • 2-4 years’ service experience; previous loan or mortgage officer experience is preferred
  • College Diploma or equivalent
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build rapport and communicate appropriately with clients and peers
  • Strong communication skills:  written and verbal
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, highly motivated self-starter
  • Detail oriented with effective follow-up and prioritization skills
  • Ability to define problems, collect data to correct deficiencies and make a decision to resolve
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft applications
  • Ability to manage pressure in an environment of high-volume processing with tight turnaround times
